Holocaust blog post

in class we are learning about the holocaust and i listened to a podcast about a boxer who was sent to ausvichs, the people there made him fight his friends for entertainment, but some nights he would risk his life just to steel some bread for his friends. every time he went to steel some bread he was risking his life for his friends and one day when he was running back with some food he was shot. the name of this man was Victor “Young” Perez.

imagine what he had to go through. torcher day in and day out, forced to fight his friend, almost no food to eat. the moment that most captivated me was his death how he was shot just because he was taking care of his friends. I was impacted by the story because I saw when I heard that he died because of food. It showed me how horrible it was back then for Jews. this story can help kids all around the world to show how cruel people used to be to Jews all around the world.

It is important to commemorate the holocaust so that way we can remember what happened so it doesn’t happen again but it is also important to look forward and to forgive what happened in the past. I learned from this source that even in some of the worlds darkest times there was still kindness and compassion.
